I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by! My due date is in 6 DAYS! I will have a baby next week no matter what, because I will induce on the 9th if he doesn’t come by then. WOW. I just can’t believe it! I’m so excited but also to the point of “i’m so done with being pregnant just get this baby out”! I know it’s been FOREVER since i’ve written a blog. We’ve been soooooo busy with work and life! Our business is going so well, we are so blessed!
So the nursery is totally ready i will have to post pictures soon. I am so lucky to have my sweet sister-in-law help me with all the details. Together we painted a huge tree mural on the wall, organized everything, made cute decor and accents for the room, washed and folded all his clothes, organized all his bath items, and recovered a rocking chair. Matt helped too by painting the dresser and rocking chair white to match the crib. It really looks incredible, like a real, live, nursery! I go in there almost every night and just touch everything and pretend to put baby to bed. Am I ready or what?
I’ve been extremely “nesty” lately, as in having the urge to “nest” not as in “nasty”.
I can’t stop cleaning and organizing! And I’ve done so much I can’t find anymore to do! It’s amazing how God made mothers to have this natural instinct to prepare for the baby. Also I’ve been craving apples like crazy–i’ve never liked apples, except with peanut butter. But it’s like my baby is controlling me and forcing me to eat all these apples everyday. So weird!
As far as my pregnancy goes, I’m just 1 cm dilated as of last week, and supposedly baby boy weighs 8lbs. but they say it could be off by a pound. I’m contracting alot, but just the braxton hicks contractions, which are so annoying. I worry whether i’ll know if i’m going into labor or not, some people say you’ll just know, others say they had know idea. We shall see…
I’ve had so much fun buying random junk for our baby. I even get excited to buy “butt paste” which is a diaper rash creme. Other items include diapers, bibs, a mobile, a baby pumpkin outfit, a swing, kiddapotamus wrap, a boppy, a baby journal/schedule, a fathering book for matt, baby socks etc. Sometimes I feel like maybe it’s all a joke, that i’ve just been carrying a big air bubble in my tummy and it will disappear, or not. But there’s actually an end to this, a beautiful end….a sweet a baby boy, a life that will change our lives.
I will try and keep everyone posted when baby is born. Can’t wait to announce his name and introduce him to all of you! Keep us in your prayers!

My birthday was August 2nd, and it was the most wonderful birthday ever! I have the sweetest husband who spent a lot of time making it a very special day. It started off with breakfast in bed. I didn’t even know Matt could cook, but he made the most wonderful breakfast burrito from scratch! Then he gave me some wonderful gifts, one of which was our wedding video on DVD which he spent over 3 weeks working on. I wondered why he had been so sneaky lately! It was so special to watch it together, and definitely brought on some tears. Then we went to the lake with family and rode on the jet skiis and the boat! It was a perfect day for being on the lake. Then we ate at the Old Inn in Cordele. It was the most delicious dinner ever! We ate like kings and queens. We ordered a cheese
and bacon oyster dip, stuffed shrimp fried and grilled, homemade french fries, green salads, and an imperial crab dish made with white wine sauce! Yummmm! Then we went to see the movie “Step Brothers”….horrible, don’t see it, we were so disappointed. But besides that it was the most wonderful perfect day!
So this weekend we are going to visit my brother Garrett, his wife and their new baby! I can’t wait! We will be posting some baby pics of her very soon!
We had our first birthing class this week, which was quite an experience! We’re taking them in backwards order, because of scheduling so this week was about C-sections and epidurals. Matt was squeezing my hand the whole time, not because I needed it, but because he was freaking out just a little :). But it was great over all and we learned a lot! We look forward to next week when Matt gets to put diapers on a baby doll and learn to feed it a bottle!
(The picture below from our wedding, Matt ordered a print of 11×16, framed it and hung it in our dining room with several others as part of my birthday gift! )

I can’t believe how fast it’s gone by! I had a few minor complications this last week, had to go to the hospital for a couple days, but thank the Lord, baby is doing fine and I’m hanging in there! We got to see my mom and sister for a bit on their trip down to Florida to see my brother Garrett and his wife Sarah, and their new baby! Unfortunately, we could not go with them to Florida as my doctor advised against it because of my complications. But hopefully soon, we can make a trip down there! They had a girl, named Ava Dawn Miller, 7lb. 16oz., with dark brown hair. I’ve seen pictures and she’s precious! Can’t wait to meet her! it really makes this pregnancy thing more of a reality. Wow. We got to visit a little more with my mom, sister, and dad this time on their way back up to Nashville. We celebrated my birthday early. Crazy to think that 28 years ago my mom was going through what I am right now, except worse, more intense!
Your pregnancy: 30 weeks
How your baby’s growing:
Your baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after she’s born, she’ll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
Your baby rivals a good-size cabbage in weight, tipping the scales this week at 3 pounds. (Length: about 15 3/4 inches, head to heel.)

Here is my weekly update.
BABY AT 28 Weeks.
How your baby’s growing:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She’s also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
How big is baby?
Your baby is equal in weight to a Chinese cabbage — about 2 1/4 pounds. (Length: almost 15 inches, from head to heel.)

Matt admits he is a little fearful about becoming a dad, but everyday he seems to gain more confidence and get more excited about being a daddy. These are some fun photos I took the other day at Gigi and Pops. Our little niece Rhama and nephew Judah are great practice for us! We always have so much fun with them. Matt is so good with them, it always makes me smile. I know Matt is going to be the best daddy ever! Enjoy and laugh at these pictures, they’re classic.
This picture is Rhama yelling at the frogs in the pond, hilarious!

This is Rhama holding one of the itty bitty frogs she caught.

My cute adorable husband.

This is a baby life jacket that our son will wear someday!

More attacks!

This is a showdown!

Oh no! Judah is down for the count!
And here is my goof ball husband as the tin man or something.

Your pregnancy: 27 weeks
How your baby’s growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Of course I have the weekly “how big is baby” pic up….and it’s a cauliflower!
Your baby is as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.)

Yesterday I had another doctor’s appointment, and this was the one where they had to do the glucose test. You have to drink this super super sugary orange drink. It tasted like a melted popsicle with added sugar. To me it was yucky, but Matt said it sounded delicious to him because he loves lots of sugar. As the nurse was pricking my arm to take my blood I asked her how her 4th of July was. Bad mistake….she got distracted and the needle slipped out, after I had gone through the initial pain of getting stuck with the needle! Blood was dripping everywhere, and she had to call another nurse to stick my other arm. Awesome. Besides all that, the appointment went well. Dr. Asbury is so sweet and was very helpful with my huge list of questions. I now get to come to the doctor every 2 weeks. Wow, I can’t believe it’s already to that point!
Last week was a blast getting to see my family up in Nashville. Mom and Dad freaked out about my stomach! I think they were so amazed to see me like this! It was really cool because they got to feel the baby move. It was also very special to see my dear friends Margaret, Nancy and Courtney who also all got to feel the baby kick and flip. It such a special experience to share.
This is a picture of my dad feeling little buddy kick inside my tummy.

Here’s my weekly update. And what the heck is a rutabaga? I have no idea, but my baby is the size of one.
Your pregnancy: 25 weeks
How your baby’s growing
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn’t much more than an average rutabaga, but she’s beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she’ll start to look more and more like a newborn. She’s also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you’d now be able to discern its color and texture.
Your baby rivals the average rutabaga in weight — about 1 1/2 pounds. (Length: 13 1/2 inches, head to heel.)

We are so blessed. SO BLESSED! Almost everything in our home has been given to us or we got for 5 dollars at a thrift store. Seriously. Our newest gift from our sweet sister in-law Leah, is a wonderful white crib! I’ve been looking for a bedding set for months now, and finally found one that I love and it was affordable! It has trees and birds on it, of course! It really looks great in the “nursery in progress”. The toy car pictured below with surfboards on top, is a fun new purchase. We were shopping at Ross and Matt saw it. I told him it matched the colors of our nursery. He realized that he now had an excuse to buy fun toys like this because we’re having a boy. He told me he wants our baby to like surfing and skate-boarding. He was smiling so big and said this was the first time he really got excited about having a boy(he honestly wanted a girl). Now I’ll have to watch him and make sure he’s not buying every surfboard or skateboard thing he sees!

Everyone has waited so patiently for these photos. Finally they’re here! I’m learning to maneuver with this big tummy(which will only get bigger) and trying to get comfortable with it. I can’t see down to my toes anymore! I have trouble bending over and trouble sleeping, but it’s all for our baby. Gosh, mother’s should totally get an “I survived pregnancy” award or something…I’m saying this and I haven’t even been through the hardest part! Actually, a friend told me that giving birth is a piece of cake considering all that you have to go through over 9 months! I truly have a new respect for mothers everywhere. Mothers are amazing, particularly my mom. Thanks mom for everything. Now take a gander at this preggo tum tum.
